Foremost Insurance for Specialty Homeowners

Flexibility when you need it most
Foremost BASICS® is a flexible insurance program for properties that don't qualify for standard or preferred homeowners insurance. It offers solid coverage in a highly flexible package that allows you to pick and choose among many optional features and coverages. In other words, you don't have to settle for a "one-size-fits-all" policy.

Foremost BASICS insurance includes two different base policies, each of which can be customized to meet your individual needs. Here's a brief description of our two BASICS policies today:

BASICS One
BASICS One is a simple "no frills" policy with named peril coverage and an actual cash value (ACV) settlement method. The home must be structurally sound but doesn't have to be in "perfect" condition. This policy provides coverage for:

  • Fire
  • Smoke
  • Wind
  • Lightning
  • Hail
  • Explosion
  • Emergency repair after loss
  • Debris removal
  • Fire-department service charges
  • Emergency removal of personal property
  • Damage from a vehicle
  • Damage from aircraft
  • Riot and civil commotion

You can add optional coverages to this policy for a variety of purposes, including coverage for:

  • Landlord liability
  • Increased medical payments to others
  • Comprehensive personal liability
  • Earthquake
  • Loss Assessment
  • Vandalism
  • Business personal property
  • Windstorm or hail damage to antennas or satellite dishes
  • And more!

BASICS Three
BASICS Three provides ACV (actual cash value) coverage for homeowners who want broader, comprehensive coverage. It offers optional replacement cost coverage in most states. BASICS Three is intended for owner-occupied homes, landlord properties (1-4 families) and seasonal homes.

The BASICS Three policy includes all of the coverages listed in BASICS One, plus the following:

  • Vandalism and malicious mischief
  • Weight of ice, snow or sleet
  • Building collapse
  • Damage caused by heating systems' discharge
  • Ruptured heating or air conditioning pipes
  • Damage from burglars
  • Glass breakage
  • Falling objects
  • Frozen pipes
  • Power surges
  • Tree, shrub, plant, and lawn coverage

You can add optional coverages to this policy for a variety of purposes, including coverage for:

  • Landlord liability
  • Increased medical payments to others
  • Comprehensive personal liability
  • Earthquake
  • Loss Assessment
  • Vandalism
  • Business personal property
  • Windstorm or hail damage to antennas or satellite dishes
  • And more!
