Farmers Launches Commercial Habitational Program in Pennsylvania Targeted at Apartments and Condos
(Grand Rapids, MI) The Farmers Insurance Group launches a new Habitational product in Pennsylvania for independent agents on November 1. The product is offered as a part of a profitable program for commercial prospects. Agents have a new option for condominium and apartment owner risks.
The Habitational Program is designed for apartment and condominium owners, and professional real estate managers on a Business Owners Policy tailored to meet the specific needs of this class of business insurance.
"Both agents and customers will find it meets their needs because of our expert claims handling, loss control, underwriting and competitive, flexible pricing," says Arron Lamp, Vice President, Farmers Independent Market Management. "Currently we offer this product to our independent agents in Maryland and North Carolina. It will launch in New York the first of the year. This is a program that few carriers will write. Farmers is a major commercial player and we're excited to offer the Habitational component to an already successful Restaurant program," says Lamp.
Farmers is the third largest auto and home carrier in the U.S. They recently launched the Farmers DistinctChoice SM Auto Program to independent agents in five Eastern states with seven more to follow by January 1. DistinctChoice Auto offers an array of discounts and rates tailored to each individual. A Farmers DistinctChoice Home product is coming soon.
To book a policy, appointed Farmers independent agents submit the application through e-Agent. Agents without a Farmers Commercial appointment can submit an application though a Farmers Commercial wholesaler such as Allied Brokers Inc.
